MonolixSuite workshop

Lixoft is running a 1 day hands-on workshop on the Monolix Suite on Tuesday the 11th of June.
The course is designed for modelers with none to intermediate knowledge of the MonolixSuite. It will present the full modeling and simulation workflow on concrete examples using the 4 applications of the suite: Datxplore for the data visualization, Mlxplore for the exploration of the model behavior, Monolix for parameter estimation and model diagnosis and Simulx for clinical trial simulations.
The course will in particular focus on the modeling strategy, the model implementation and the model diagnosis. Two real case studies will be used, covering a PK and a PKPD example of modeling and simulation.

Agenda:

[AM] Introduction to the MonolixSuite:

  • Introduction of the different applications
  • Data exploration using Datxplore
  • Parameter estimation and model diagnostic using Monolix
    • Model definition using the library, the macros or ODEs
    • Description of the several tasks/algorithms
    • Model diagnostic and improvement using the graphics
  • Model exploration using Mlxplore
  • Simulations for a priori dose finding using Simulx
    • Overview of simulx features
    • Toxicity and target attainment of the usual treatment
    • Treatment individualization using covariates or real-time drug monitoring

[PM] Hands-on: modeling and simulation of a PKPD data set

  • Data exploration using Datxplore
    • Detecting outliers
    • Getting ideas for the structural model
  • PK-PD modeling in Monolix
    • Mlxtran coding
    • Monolix graphical results visualization: Convergence, Diagnostic plots / Predictive checks, Model assessment
  • Model exploration using Mlxplore
    • Mlxtran coding and export of projects from Monolix to Mlxplore
    • Exploration of the model behavior
  • Clinical trial simulations using Simulx

Main instructor

Dr Pauline Traynard joined Lixoft in 2017 as Applications Manager. She has a multidisciplinary background focusing on computational and systems biology. After a double engineering degree specializing in computational biology from Ecole Polytechnique and MINES ParisTech (Paris, France) obtained in 2012, she applied different mathematical formalisms to model biological rhythms as part of her PhD studies at INRIA and IBENS Paris, and prostate cancer as a postdoctoral fellow in Institut Curie.
